OUAZ Athletics

Edmund Baker joins OUAZ as the assistant track and field coach. Baker comes to OUAZ from coaching at Desert Vista HS in Tempe, AZ. During his seven years of coaching at Desert Vista, his men's team was named the 2018 State Champions, and the women finished as runners-up.

Before coaching, Baker attended Arizona State University, competing on their men's Track and Field team for four years. As a student-athlete, he earned his Bachelors of Science in Sociology and competed in the high jump event for the Sun Devils. With a jump of 2.18 (7’1.75”) Baker holds the eighth best jump in ASU history and competed in 2013, 2014, and 2015 Pac-12 Championships. Baker received All-Academic Honorable mention during his 2014 season.

Baker chose OUAZ for the culture and community that defines the Spirit, and his favorite Bible verse is Psalm 119:105. In his downtime, he enjoys being creative through photography, painting, and writing.
