Spirit Tested by GSAC’s Best at Jamboree

Surprise, Ariz. — The OUAZ Jamboree was a challenging but another important step in the growth of a young Spirit team, as the team faced two of the conference's top opponents in Hope International Royals (No. 1 in GSAC) and La Sierra Golden Eagles (No. 2 in GSAC).

In the first matchup, OUAZ fell 0–19 to Hope International. The Royals showed why they sit at the top of the conference, pulling away in the second half, but the Spirit still had positive moments. Mae Enriquez was efficient through the air, completing 12 of 14 passes, while Taehanie Scott and Lucy Stiegler made key contributions in the passing game. Defensively, OUAZ continued to compete and show effort against a high-powered offense.

In the second game, the Spirit took on No. 2 La Sierra, falling 6–38 but showing clear offensive growth. OUAZ struck early with a touchdown connection between Bryce Watson and Aaliya Oliver, proving they can make big plays against top-tier competition. Watson threw for 234 yards, while Oliver led the way with over 100 receiving yards. Shariffa Piamonte and Stiegler added to the offensive effort as the Spirit moved the ball more consistently.
