Huntington Beach, Calif. — The top-ranked OUAZ Beach Volleyball team delivered a dominant performance on the sand, earning a 5–0 sweep over Hope International. The Spirit controlled the dual from start to finish, showcasing depth and consistency across every flight.
OUAZ jumped out to an early lead in the No. 4 flight, where Katy Shockey and Alicia Romero set the tone with a commanding straight-sets victory, 21-12, 21-8. Olga Romero and Shea Marovich followed in the No. 2 flight with another dominant performance, winning 21-11, 21-11. In the No. 5 pairing, Marielle Ramos and Gabriela Corrales continued the momentum with a decisive 21-7, 21-9 win to extend the Spirit's lead.
In the top flight, Eliana Dean and Maya Blake battled through a competitive match but secured the win in two sets, 21-13, 21-16. Shayna Martinez and Railey Dykstra closed out the sweep in the No. 3 flight, going to three sets before earning the victory, 21-10, 19-21, 15-9.
With the sweep, the Spirit added another impressive win to their resume, continuing to build momentum with strong performances across the lineup.
