Mesa, Ariz. — The OUAZ Spirit men's basketball team delivered a strong start and held their composure late to secure a win over the Park Gilbert Buccaneers. After dominating the first half, the Spirit withstood a second-half run to close out the victory.

• 1st half (46-20): OUAZ controlled the game early, setting the tone with efficient offense and active defense. Carter Gittens led the way with an impressive 16 points, along with 2 rebounds and 2 steals. Jerry Johnson provided a strong spark, scoring 9 points and grabbing 2 rebounds as the Spirit built a comfortable lead heading into halftime.

• 2nd half (78-62): Park Gilbert made a push in the second half, but the Spirit stayed composed and protected their advantage. Gittens continued his standout performance with 10 points, 4 rebounds, and a steal, while Max Nkpa added toughness inside with 2 points and 5 rebounds to help OUAZ hold on for the win.
