CHANDLER, Ariz. — The OUAZ Spirit men's basketball team battled through a physical, hard-fought contest against the Rocky Mountain Bears, staying competitive through a back-and-forth first half. Despite a determined second-half push that brought the Spirit within striking distance, Rocky Mountain maintained control late to secure the win.

First Half (27-28): The first half was back and forth throughout, as both teams matched each other possession by possession. Zeke Viuhkola contributed 5 points for the Spirit, while Max Mkpa led the interior effort with 6 points and 3 rebounds. Jack Galiardi added 4 points and 2 rebounds, helping OUAZ stay within one of the Bears heading into the break.

Second Half (69-74): Rocky Mountain took control in the second half, creating separation as the game progressed. The Spirit continued to battle and made a late push, cutting the deficit to within five points, but the Bears were able to hold their lead down the stretch. Tyran Simpson led the Spirit offensively with 13 points, while Zeke Viuhkola added 10 points and 4 rebounds in the second-half effort.
