Box Score SURPRISE, Ariz. — The OUAZ Spirit men's basketball team turned a tightly contested matchup into a statement win with an explosive second-half performance against the Nelson Warriors. After grinding through a physical and evenly matched first half, the Spirit came out of the locker room with renewed energy and focus, shifting the momentum and taking control of the game down the stretch.

First Half (32-35): The opening half was a back-and-forth battle, with neither team able to create separation. Zeke Viuhkola led the Spirit with 10 points and 2 rebounds, while Tyran Simpson added 7 points and 4 rebounds. Max Mkpa anchored the interior, contributing 2 points and a game-high 9 rebounds to help keep OUAZ competitive heading into halftime.

Second Half (83-70): The Spirit looked like a different team in the second half, taking command on both ends of the floor. Tyran Simpson paced the offense with 10 points, while Zeke Viuhkola followed with 9 points and 3 rebounds. Carter Gittens delivered a strong all-around performance, finishing the half with 13 points and 4 rebounds, and Hunter Richardson added 8 points to cap off the Spirit's dominant surge and secure the win.
