Phoenix, Ariz. – OUAZ Men's Basketball improved to 4–3 on the season with a 67–55 road win over Nelson (AZ) on Saturday night. The Spirit controlled the game early, building a 35–19 halftime lead before the Warriors made a late push in the second half. Nelson outscored OUAZ 36–32 after the break, but the Spirit maintained their composure to secure the victory.

OUAZ delivered a strong defensive performance, holding the Warriors to 36.2 percent shooting from the field and just 3-for-11 from three-point range. The Spirit also won the rebounding battle 38–30, including 11 offensive rebounds that led to 11 second-chance points. Offensively, OUAZ shot an efficient 47.4 percent from the floor and received key contributions across the lineup.

Tyran Simpson led all OUAZ scorers with 16 points while adding seven rebounds, three blocks, and four steals in an all-around standout performance. Zeke Viuhkola followed with 15 points, four rebounds, one block, and two steals. Carter Gittens added 13 points on 5-of-12 shooting, and Max Mkpa chipped in six points and five rebounds to anchor the interior.
