SANTA CLARITA, Calif. — In an exciting GSAC matchup, the Spirit battled back from an early deficit to earn a thrilling 3-2 victory over The Master's Mustangs.
The game began with the Mustangs striking quickly, scoring in just the 3rd minute to take an early lead. Despite the setback, the Spirit settled in and began to control possession, creating several chances before halftime.
Coming out strong after the break, the Spirit wasted no time leveling the score when Pablo Vasquez found the back of the net in the 46th minute, assisted by Zen Courtois. The Mustangs responded in the 60th minute to regain the lead, but the Spirit refused to back down. Jesus Castillo tied the match once again in the 77th minute off an assist from Taylor Buena, setting up an intense finish.
Just five minutes later, the Spirit completed their comeback as Courtois scored in the 82nd minute to give his team the lead. The defense held firm in the closing moments, sealing an impressive comeback win for the Spirit.
