HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIF. – The #1 OUAZ beach volleyball team continued its time at the GSAC Beach Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, looking to chase its first conference tournament crown. The Spirit eliminated Arizona Christian to start the day, then fell in the final to Vanguard.

#1 OUAZ 3, #3 Arizona Christian 2

The Spirit grabbed two points quickly, as they won the fours and the twos in the first wave. Olivia Andersh/Mattea Wilson earned a straight-sets victory in the twos position, then Dayana Raygoza/Shea Marovich followed suit in the fours.

Grace Hughes and Amanda Carlson wrapped up a trip to the tournament final in the threes position for the Spirit. They won in two sets as well, winning the final set with an impressive 21-10 final.

#8 Vanguard 4, #1 OUAZ 1

The Spirit battled hard, as three different positions went to five sets. Andersh and Wilson finished the day 2-0, scoring another straight-sets victory to help the Spirit score the first team point.

OUAZ will now wait to see where they land in the national tournament field. The Spirit will find out next week if they will get the opportunity to play for the national championship.
