MESA, Ariz. – The OUAZ Spirit Men's soccer team scored the largest win in the history of the series against Benedictine University of Mesa on Thursday as they took down the Red Hawks, 5-0.
The five-goal differential is the most since the two sides played at Spirit Field on Sept. 13, 2018 when the Spirit won 6-1.
Five different players scored, with four scoring their first goals of the season.
Thomas Monayer (24th), Victor Chakawakwama (34th),
Jamaine Turner (69th) and
Ingram Kusaloka (81st) all scored their first goals of the season, while
Peyton Montiel-Villegas scored his second of the campaign.
The match ended with only ten players on the BenU side as the referee's notebook was full of nine yellows and a single straight red card.
As has been the case this season, the OUAZ shot chart was full, with 16 total shots (10 on target). The shots also led to an evenly split eight corner kicks, compared to only three for the Red Hawks.
