SURPRISE, Ariz. – The No. 4 OUAZ Beach Volleyball team (14-6, 10-2) heads into the 2023 GSAC Tournament as the No. 2 seed set to play No. 3 The Master's. on Wednesday, April 5 at 11:00 AM. OUAZ will go onto to play either No. 1 Vanguard or No. 4 Hope International later that same day.
The Golden State Athletic Conference Beach Volleyball Tournament will feature the top four teams in the conference. The tournament will be hosted by Vanguard on April 5 and 6 at the Brookhurst Courts in Huntington Beach. The four team tournament will be double elimination format with a true championship game.
This will be the third year in a row that the Spirit will compete in the tournament, with their last two appearances ending up with appearances in the Championship.
Facing The Master's in postseason play for the first time in program history, the Spirit come in with a huge 6-1 series advantage, after picking up two regular season wins them this year.
The Spirit has has another outstanding season, going 14-6 for their second best regular season winning percentage and second most regular seasonwins in program history. The 2023 run has been highlighted by multiple pairs that rank in the GSAC's top-10.
Zoey Mohring and Dayana Raygoze are undefeated on the season going 8-0, ranking third in the GSAC. Following the undefeated pair are Olivia Andersh and Livia De Pra with an 12-7 (.705) record on court 1 and Sam Leight and Mattea Wilson who have gone an impressive 13-2 (.867) on court 2.
