2022 Men's Soccer Notes -- Week 3

After playing its first three games of the season in Arizona, the 10th-ranked OUAZ men's soccer team will travel to California to play a pair of games over Labor Day Weekend. The Spirit will open the trip by facing Westcliff on Saturday evening before a Monday morning contest at La Sierra.

OUAZ opened the season with two straight wins before falling to Embry-Riddle last Saturday. That loss put the team's record at 0-1 in road games. The Spirit had been 3-0-1 in their previous four games on the road before that decision.

OUAZ has scored five goals for an average of 1.67 per game through three games played. Those come on 14.00 shots per contest, with 42.9 percent of those chances on goal. The team enters the road trip taking 6.67 corner kicks per outing.

OUAZ has allowed just one goal thus far while averaging 2.33 saves per game with a .875 save percentage. They have also recorded a pair of shutouts.

Tinashe Simbo leads the team with two goals –both coming against Antelope Valley – while attempting six shots. He has one of the two game-winning goals.

Mark Lydford and Misael Moreno have each tallied a goal and an assist. The duo also have one shot apiece.

Titouan Desveaux has the fifth goal and the second game-winner. He has put four of his seven shots on frame.

Tom Cohen leads the team with 12 shots and five shots on goal. He also has taken a team-best 11 corners.

Adam Salama has recorded a pair of wins and has yet to allow a goal in nearly 160 minutes played. Salama has notched four saves.

Marcos Papakostas has made three saves and been part of a combined shutout in two appearances.
