Season Ends with Loss to Corban

PANAMA CITY, Fla. – The OUAZ beach volleyball team saw its season come to an end with a 3-2 loss to Corban in the first round of the NAIA Beach Volleyball National Invitational on Friday morning at the Russell Fields City Pier.

The teams split the first two points of the dual, with OUAZ (17-13) getting a win from Katelyn Viray & Mattea Wilson on court No. 3. Corban's first point came from a win on court No. 5.

The remaining three matches each went to third sets to determine a winner. The Spirit picked up a second point on the No. 1 court with a 21-18, 22-24, 15-12 win from Katia Dizon & Kate Pestova.

Corban won the match on Court No. 2 to set up the deciding point from the pair on court No. 4. The Warriors duo would prevail over Mia Lara & Amanda Carlson by the slimmest margin of 21-19, 19-21, 19-17.

With her win, Dizon set the OUAZ record for career wins at 44.
