Beach Secures 3-2 Win at Arizona Christian

GLENDALE, Ariz. – The No. 3 OUAZ beach volleyball team defeated Arizona Christian 3-2 on Friday evening for a sixth consecutive win.

OUAZ (10-7, 6-2 GSAC) trailed 2-0 after the first wave as Arizona Christian (5-10, 2-7 GSAC) picked up wins in the No. 2 and No. 4 positions.

Zoey Mohring and Olivia Andersh got the Spirit on the board with a 21-14, 21-13 win to start wave two in the No. 5 position. Mattea Wilson and Katelyn Viray pulled OUAZ even by winning the No. 3 court 21-18, 21-12.

The decisive point came down to the No. 1 pairs in a third set. OUAZ's Kate Pestova and Katia Dizon came out on top 21-16, 17-21, 16-14.

The Spirit will spend next weekend in California for the final GSAC Round Robin of the season. They will begin the crossover by facing No. 1 Vanguard on March 25 at 11 a.m.
