Beach Secures 3-2 Win over ACU

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – Playing its first home match of the season, No. 2 OUAZ beach volleyball earned a 3-2 win over No. 10 Arizona Christian on Friday afternoon at Scottsdale Ranch Park.

OUAZ (4-1, 3-1 GSAC) secured the win by winning the first three points of the day. It started with Mia Lara and Mattea Wilson winning the No. 4 match, 21-18, 21-17.

Katie Defer and Noel Chavarria followed with a 21-15, 21-14 win in the No. 2 match. The threes of Kate Pestova and Priscilla Loiola clinched the win with a 21-12, 21-19 victory.

Arizona Christian (2-2, 2-2) would win the final two points, including a three-set win in the No. 5 match to end the day.

The Spirit will return to action on February 25 when they are in San Jose, California, for the San Jose State round-robin event.
