Championship Rematch Goes to Lions

GLENDALE, Ariz. – The anticipated matchup between the No. 1 OUAZ beach volleyball team and No. 2 Vanguard saw the Lions pull out a 5-0 win to give the Spirit its first loss of the season.

OUAZ (3-1, 2-1 GSAC) only won one set in the five duals and fell behind 1-0 in every contest. The fours of Mia Lara and Mattea Wilson answered a 21-17 loss in the first set to win the second 21-17. However, they fell in the third set, 15-13, as Vanguard completed the shutout.

The Spirit will look to bounce back when they face Arizona Christian on Friday at the Scottsdale Ranch Park.
