Spirit Extend Match Win Streak Over ACU to 10

The OUAZ beach volleyball team continued its dominance over crosstown rival Arizona Christian on Friday, defeating the Firestorm 5-0 in Glendale, Ariz. The Spirit have never lost a match to ACU in program history.

No match among the five during the dual on Friday needed a third set. Abbey Willison and Katia Dizon dominated the ones spot, winning both sets in their match 21-6. Brittany Western got a chance to defeat her old college, wining in the twos slot with Viri Serrano 25-18, 25-19.

Katelyn Viray and Isabel Mason posted a 21-6 second set in their victory, and Claire Nenninger/Katie Defer played the closest match of anyone. The pair still won its match 21-17, 21-14.

The Spirit will be back in conference action next week when they travel to California for three duals. The first of three on the trip will be against The Master's next Friday in Santa Clarita, Calif.
