IRVINE, Calif. – The decisive game three of the inaugural NAIA Championship Series was a tightly contested game that was eventually decided in sudden-death third overtime when OUAZ claimed the 12-11 win over Westcliff.

Tied 10-10 after regulation, each team went scoreless in the first overtime, and then both scored a goal during the second overtime to set up the sudden-death third extra period. Arnaud Parmentier would win the sprint for possession in the third additional period. After working the ball through Tristin D'Ambrosi, Travis Alvarado would deliver the deciding goal and set off the Spirit celebration.

The game would feature seven ties and three lead changes. Westcliff held a two-goal advantage on two different occasions in the second half, including with 3:12 to play in regulation. Alvarado and James Martin would each score for the Spirit to force the game to overtime.

After Luca Silvestri scored for the Warriors early in the second overtime, Garrett Davis tied the game again just 59 seconds before the period ended to set up the opportunity in sudden death.
