OUAZ Falls to ACU in Season Opener

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – In the first dual of the 2021-22 swimming season, OUAZ dropped a 174-44 decision to Arizona Christian in a meet hosted by Northern Arizona University.

Jonathan Cowin picked up a pair of event wins on Saturday in his OUAZ debut. He won the 100 Butterfly in 55.78 seconds and also the 100 Backstroke in 55.96 seconds.

Konnor Kolberg recorded a second-place finish in the 50 Freestyle with a school-record time of 23.93 seconds. He also placed third in the 200 Individual Medley in a time of 2:11.52.

Vladimir Fedoseev went 52.29 in the 100 Freestyle to place second, and he was fourth in the 200 Individual Medley at 2:23.94.

Blake Francis would finish second in the 200 Breaststroke in 2:33.97 and then had a third-place result in the 100 Breaststroke at 1:10.00.

OUAZ will return to the poll on November 20 when they host the OUAZ Invitational at the Southwest Valley YMCA.
