GLENDALE, ARIZ. – The OUAZ beach volleyball team flexed its dominance on Thursday as they won a pair of duals against the ACUs – Arizona Christian and NCAA Division I Abilene Christian. The Spirit did not drop any match in either dual, the third time in the past four duals OUAZ has swept its opponent.

The day started with
Katia Dizon and
Abbey Willison winning their matchup 21-14, 21-11.
Valerie Rodgers and
Mikelle Taylor won the first set against Maddie Lapierre and Annabelle Camoirano 21-8, then kept up the pressure, winning the second set 21-16.
Isabel Mason and
Mariah Clausen put up a 21-17, 21-7 win to clinch the dual for OUAZ against its closest rival. The dual victory pushed the Spirit's Golden State Athletic Conference record to 3-0.

Rodgers/Taylor won the first point of the dual for the Spirit 21-11, 21-9 over Kennedy Shelstend and Logan Browning.
Viri Serrano and
Andrea Gonzalez won a tough first set 21-17, then carried momentum into the second set to win 21-10.
Mason/Clause once again clinched the dual, winning in two sets with identical scores, 21-9, 21-9. The dual win marks the fourth time the Spirit have defeated an NCAA Division I opponent this year.
The Spirit will hit the sand again on Friday for a pair of conference duals. They take on Marymount (Calif.) at Noon and Hope International at 4pm. Both duals will take place at Victory Lane Sports Park in North Glendale.
