The OUAZ men's basketball team will play its final two games of the 2019-20 season this week with a pair of Golden State Athletic Conference home games. The season's final week has the Spirit hosting No. 16 Menlo on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and the William Jessup on Saturday at 2 p.m.

The team will honor its seniors in a ceremony prior to introductions on Saturday afternoon.

OUAZ enters the final week – and its first playing in Faith Arena – with a 9-17 overall record and 6-6 at home. They are eighth in the GSAC standings with their 4-12 conference record, but they have been eliminated from making the 6-team conference tournament.

The Spirit start the week 29th in the NAIA by scoring 82.62 points per game and they are 14th with a .483 field goal percentage. They also sit 37th in free throw shooting at .703 percent and 41st by averaging 14.54 assists per game.

Dimetres Moore leads the team in scoring at 21.19 points per game which is good for eighth in the NAIA. Moore became the program's first 1,000-point scorer in the game at Hope International on Saturday. He currently ranks fifth in the nation at 2.58 steals per game and sixth with 67 total steals.

Brian Carey averages 19.35 points per game – 14th in the NAIA – and he is ninth nationally by recording 5.77 assists per game.
Shazier Lawson is 25th in the country by shooting 55.0 percent from the field and 21st in grabbing 8.38 rebounds per contest.

OUAZ is 0-3 all-time against Menlo and 0-1 in Surprise. They lost at Menlo 99-92 on January 25. The Spirit have an 0-4 all-time record against William Jessup with just one of those games in Surprise. The Warriors earned a 93-81 win on January 23 in California.
