Golden State Athletic Conference play started with a conference tournament final rematch for OUAZ men's tennis. They got its first crack at rival Arizona Christian in 2020, but was not as close as the last meeting back in Indian Wells, Calif.

ACU clinched the 4-0 win Tuesday in Glendale, Ariz. thanks to Andres Vasquez's 6-3, 6-1 victory over Jordan Petrie. The final three individual matches were stopped once the Firestorm picked up the fourth point.

The Spirit struggled in doubles play, with the closest result was 3-6 by Dong Hyun Kim and Samuel Murphy. OUAZ Kim, Andres Reyes and Austin Todd all won a set in their respective singles matches, but all three were stopped as a result of ACU grabbing the fourth point.

OUAZ will have two chances for its first conference win this weekend in Southern California. They travel to Santee to take on San Diego Christian on Friday, and head north to Fullerton to face Hope International on Saturday.
