This week the OUAZ men's basketball team is back at home this weekend to host a pair of Golden State Athletic Conference games. The Spirit will face Life Pacific on Thursday at 7 p.m. before welcoming Hope International on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Both games will be played at Willow Canyon High School and follow the conclusion of the women's game that tips two hours prior. Admission is free to all OUAZ home basketball games this season. Fans attending the games are encouraged to park on the south side of the gymnasium and enter the building through the west doors.

ABOUT THE SPIRIT
OUAZ brings a 4-19 overall record into the week after splitting a pair of road games last week. They are 1-12 in GSC action to currently sit 10th in the standings. The Spirit are 2-7 at home this season and looking to snap a five-game home losing streak.

The Spirit start the week averaging 77.1 points per game by shooting 42.4 percent. They are making 7.3 3-pointers per game at 30.8 percent. OUAZ makes 69.0 percent at the foul line and they are averaging 12.5 assists per game with a 0.8 assist-to-turnover ratio.

Opponents average 87.5 points per game with their 45.2 field goal percentage. The Spirit are giving up 8.3 threes per game with the opposition making 33.2 percent from beyond the arc. OUAZ grabs 37.9 rebounds per game and allows 43.8. They are forcing 14.5 turnovers per game with an average of 6.9 steals and 1.8 blocks per game.

Brian King Jr. leads the team and ranks ninth in the GSAC with his 15.8 points per game average. He has scored in double figures 18 times with four games of 20-plus. King is second on the team with 131 rebounds and he has added 42 assists and 28 steals.

Dimetres Moore adds 14.7 points per game with 18 games in double figures and a team-best five 20-point efforts. He has scored in double figures in nine straight games. Moore is ninth in the GSAC with his .565 field goal percentage while making 39.7 percent from beyond the arc.

Tanner Riley is scoring 14.2 points per game where he ranks 15th in the GSAC. His 18 games in double figures is tied for the team lead and he leads the team with a pair of double-doubles. Riley has 122 rebounds, 39 assists, and 37 steals this season. Riley is OUAZ's all-time leading scorer with 706 points during his two years with the program.

Marcus Williams averages 13.3 points per game and leads the team with 53 made 3-pointers. He has scored in double figures in eight consecutive games and he has a pair of 20-point outings this season. Williams has a school record 90 assists this season and he is the school's al-time leader with 119.

ABOUT LIFE PACIFIC
Life Pacific will visit Surprise with an 8-14 overall record and having dropped seven straight. The Warriors are 2-11 in GSAC play to sit ninth to start the week. Chez Lister leads the team in scoring at 12.7 points per game.

The teams have split two meetings all-time with Life Pacific defeating the Spirit 87-75 earlier this season. OUAZ claimed a 92-80 win over the Warriors last season on a neutral court.

ABOUT HOPE INTERNATIONAL
Hope International will begin the week with a 17-7 overall record. They are sixth in the conference standings with an 8-5 record in league play. Josh Powell-Davis averages 18.8 points per game to lead the Royals and rank third in the GSAC.

HIU has gone 3-0 all-time against the Spirit with every meeting coming on the Royals home floor. That includes a 72-58 win earlier this season.

LOOKING AHEAD
The Spirit will make their final road trip of the season next week as they head to northern California for two GSAC games. The trip begins at No. 17 William Jessup on February 21 and then continues on February 23 at Menlo.
