OUAZ men's soccer have been resilient all season long, but its season ended Friday night at the NCCAA National Tournament. The Spirit dropped a 1-0 decision to Mid-American Christian University in the semifinal in Kissimmee, Fla.
It was a tight game all afternoon, as both teams stayed deadlocked at zero through 84 minutes. The 85' saw the game's first and only goal, as the Evangels' Pero Mikulic scored off a cross from Dominik Tajak. Mid-American Christian was able to hold on to the slim margin for the final 5:59.
The first half was rough for OUAZ, as they were outshot 12-1. The second half saw the Spirit build up more offense, as they had eight shot attempts in the second half, with six of them landing on target. Christian Gennaro and Victor de la O each had two shots on target.
Andrew Tamburro had another fantastic performance, as he made seven saves on Friday. He made a total of 13 saves in the NCCAA Tournament.
