OUAZ MEN'S BASKETBALL NOTES
• The OUAZ men's basketball team will get back to action following the Thanksgiving break on Saturday, November 30, at 2 p.m. when they host Westcliff in Faith Arena. The game begins a stretch of four straight home games for the Spirit.
• OUAZ enters Saturday's home game with a 2-3 overall record and looking to snap a two-game losing streak. The Spirit are 1-1 at home on the season and fell to Benedictine Mesa in their last game at Faith Arena on November 16.
• The Spirit and Warriors will play for the fourth time on Saturday with OUAZ leading the series 3-0. The Spirit earned a 93-86 home win over the Warriors last season. They also swept two games in 2017-18, including an 82-72 win in Surprise.

• OUAZ currently ranks third in the NAIA in 3-point field goal percentage by making 44.7 percent from beyond the arc. They average 7.6 threes made per game while hitting 8-plus 3-pointers in a game three times.
• The Spirit are also efficient from the foul line where they make 76.2 percent to rank sixth in the NAIA. They started the year by making 81 percent or better in the first three games before converting just 65 percent or less in the past two contests.
• With their 48.2 percent shooting from the field – 26th in the NAIA – OUAZ is currently scoring 87.0 points per game where they are 24th in the nation. The Spirit have scored above 80 points in a game three times this season.
• OUAZ has been sharing the ball this season to an average of 16.6 assists per game which ranks 26th in the country. They currently hold a 51.9 assist percentage and rank 21st with a 1.137 assist-to-turnover ratio.
• The current NAIA rankings have the Spirit 12th in steals per game with their 10.0 average. The team has recorded at least five steals in every game and they have twice recorded at least 14 steals in a game.
DOING MOORE

Dimetres Moore is having a stellar start to his senior season with four straight games with 20-plus points and a pair of double-doubles.
• Moore currently ranks fourth in the NAIA by scoring 26.6 points per game and he is 21st by grabbing 8.6 rebounds per game.
• He will also enter Saturday second in the NAIA at 3.6 steals per game while ranking 15th in offensive rebounds (3.40) and 25th by making 52.9 percent from beyond the arc.
• Moore narrowly missed the first triple-double in program history against Embry-Riddle when he recorded 24 points, 10 rebounds, and a school record nine steals. Those nine steals are the most by a player in the Golden State Athletic Conference since the 2010-11 season.
LAY DOWN THE LAW-SON

Shazier Lawson is scoring 15.0 points per game and he is shooting 50.8 percent from the field. Lawson has scored in double figures four times and he had a season-best 22 against Embry-Riddle on November 9.
• Lawson has three of double-doubles and he is 10th in the NAIA by grabbing 10.0 total rebounds and 7.4 defensive rebounds per game.
DIMES WITH CAREY
•
Brian Carey has scored in double figures in every game and is coming off his first 20-point night with 20 at Park Gilbert on November 21.
• Carey has recorded at least six assists in every game and set a school record with 10 dimes against Embry-Riddle on November 9. He ranks fourth in the NAIA by averaging 7.8 assists per game and 13th with 39 total assists.
ABOUT WESTCLIFF
• Westcliff will visit Surprise with a 1-8 overall record after defeating Life Pacific, 75-69, on Tuesday night. The Warriors are 1-7 on the road this season.
• They are currently scoring 75.0 points per game and allowing 91.9 per game to the opposition.
LOOKING AHEAD
• OUAZ will open Golden State Athletic Conference play with a pair of home games next week. They begin by hosting currently undefeated Westmont on Thursday, December 5 at 7 p.m.
• The Spirit then welcome No. 2 The Master's to Faith Arena on Saturday, December 7 for a 2 p.m. game.
