OUAZ looked to get back over .500 in GSAC play when they took on William Jessup on Saturday afternoon. The Spirit were 4:22 away from doing so, until Tanner Federico struck to even the score for the Warriors.
Neither team scored in the two overtime periods, and the match finished in a 1-1 draw. It was the first tie for the Spirit this season.
The Spirit's lone goal came in the 53' when
Cristian Gennaro struck for his 12th goal of the season. The Spirit had plenty of opportunities, as they fired 17 shots (8 on target). They also had six corner kicks.
The Warriors had more than a fair share of the offensive opportunities as well. WJU finished the match with 25 shots (12 on target). OUAZ's
Andrew Tamburro made 11 saves in his second consecutive start.
The Spirit will have another chance to get over .500 in conference play when they take on Vanguard next Saturday. Kickoff from Spirit Field is scheduled for 1:30pm. Â
